Peek-A-Boo Records

Spoon is a rare example of a band whose artistic strengths have grown exponentially with each album, despite numerous line-up changes and record biz setbacks. With a name culled from the Can song, Spoon began playing and recording in 1993 as collaboration between vocalist/guitarist Britt Daniel and drummer Jim Eno. Through a series of critically acclaimed releases for Matador, Elektra, Merge and numerous other labels, Spoon have staked a claim as one of the country's most revered & respected independent bands, with singer/songwriter Britt Daniel in particular an idiosyncratic author and voice to be reckoned with.

Peek-A-Boo Records has been rooting for Spoon since the early days, including them on the label's first full-length release, a compilation of Texas bands called the Peek-A-Boo Bicycle Rodeo. That record is long out of print and Spoon has long since graduated to the success and critical acclaim we always knew would find them. For more information on what Spoon is up to these days, visit the band's official website, or Merge Records, the band's current record label.
